11/20/2000 … Travel to Tlachichuca
After breaking camp we met the Collectivo, a Volkswagen Van. We managed to pile 8 guys and their climbing gear into it (our four and four climbers from Michigan) I'm glad it was all down hill to Apiazco. Perfect timing, got our tickets and loaded on the bus and we were on our way back to Puebla.
 Packed in the Collectivo
At the CAPU (the big ass bus station) we checked our bags and headed off in search of food. The place we landed was called VICS. It looked just like Denny's; my home away from home. Back to the CAPU and on another bus to Tlachichuca, $34.50 pesos about $3.50 US for a two-hour ride. The bus was filled with climbers. I managed to catch nap since I had been serenaded most of the previous night by a bunch of intoxicated partiers.
Arriving in Tlachichuca Steve and I beat feet down to the Hotel Gerar about four blocks from the bus station. I had managed to bag some pesos at an ATM in Puebla so I had cash on hand to pay for the Hotel for all of us. Steve commented that the hotel had been added on to since he had last stayed here in 1998. $200 pesos per room per night. All the bathrooms had been recently remodeled; the rooms were very clean and just like the sign said there was plenty of Aqua Caliente.
 Hotel Gerar
We settled in, got hot showers and we were off to find gasolina blanca and aqua purficita. We had dinned at a small restaurant called Casa Blanca. Everyone turned in early.
